AUTOMATIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

We recommend the use of an automated installation and upgrade system.
Two of them are available for free to download at xenforo.com:

MANUAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the add-on from our products section after licensing it for your forum(s). Please note, that we are enforcing our license. Please do not download, if you don't agree to it!
2. Upload everything from the "upload" directory in our software package into your web servers forum directory.
3. Install "addon-wmt_HideIpEssentials-1xx.xml" in your Xenforo ACP (ACP > Home > Install Add-On).
4. Access "ACP > Users > User Group Permissions". Select the user group you wish to assign permissions for this add-ons features. There are 3 permission that can be set and they are located in their own section named '[WMTech] Hide IP Essentials':
   • Hide IP Address
   • Can See Hidden IP Adresses
   • Do Not Store Any IP Information

Now you can enjoy our add-on at your board!

Special Installation Instructions (e.g. interactions with other add-ons):

• None so far.

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the new version of the add-on from our products section after licensing it for your forum(s). You may need to relicense even free add-ons, if your last version is older than 6 months. Please note, that we are enforcing our license. Please do not download, if you don't agree to it!
2. Upload everything from the "upload" directory in our software package into your web servers forum directory overwriting all existing files with the new ones!
3. Go to your Xenforo "ACP > Home > List Add-Ons" and select "[WMTech] Hide IP Essentials". At the dropdown arrow on the right, choose "Upgrade Add-On". A pop-up appears and let you select the XML file "addon-wmt_HideIpEssentials-1xx.xml" we provide in the upgrade software package.
4. Access "ACP > Users > User Group Permissions". Select the user group you wish to inspect or set user permissions for the features of this add-on.

This completes an upgrade process and refreshes your board with the enhanced power of a new version.

ADMIN MANUAL:

Available Options in ACP:

• There are no options for this add-on currently.

Available Permissions in ACP:
Users > Permissions > User Group Permissions
Users > Permissions > User Permissions

• Hide IP Address
  User IP information is hidden from all users with XenForo default permission to see ip informations.
• Can See Hidden IP Adresses
  Those users are exempted and can see ip information even from users set to be hidden here. Of course they also need the default permission to see ip information in XenForo.
• Do Not Store Any IP Information
  Users with that permission do not have any ip information stored ever. This cannot be overridden and also not be recovered.

Appearance > Phrases

• All phrases of this add-on start with "wmt_hip_" The name of the phrases is self explanatory. There are only a few phrases used in the admin control panel (ACP). There are no individual phrases for public pages of XenForo in this add-on currently.

Special Usage Informations For Forum Admins:

• If you give someone "Do Not Store Any IP Information" permission, this member's ip information won't get stored ever and also cannot be recovered, even after uninstalling the add-on. Such users get "10.10.10.10" as their fake ip address assigned to allow XenForo to work flawlessly.
• If you use other add-ons with features showing your location (eg. "Country Flags" by snog) those add-ons may sometimes work correctly even for users with "Do Not Store Any IP Information" permission assigned. Such add-ons sometimes check the ip address themselves and do not rely on what XenForo stores in it's ip or session database tables. You have to set the permissions in such other add-ons correctly if you do not want the location to be shown.
  
• This add-on is prepared to work with the official XenForo Gallery add-on.

USER MANUAL:

This add-on provides no features needing any manual actions by the members of your board.

If you get the "Hide IP Address" permission, your ip address will be hidden even to all users with the "Can See IP Information" permission of XenForo.

If you get the "Can See Hidden IP Adresses" permission, you can see even hidden ip information, if you also have the "Can See IP Information" permission of XenForo.

If you get the "Do Not Store Any IP Information" permission, no ip information of your sessions or actions will ever get stored in XenForo. Thus nobody can see or search any ip information associated with your account. Instead the fake ip '10.10.10.10' will get assigned and stored for you.
