We recommend the use of an automated installation and upgrade system.
Two of them are available for free to download at xenforo.com:
    Please try one of them!

If you want to do it manually, here are the instructions:

    Installation:
    1. Download the add-on from our products section after licensing it for your forum(s). Please note, that we are enforcing our license. Please do not download, if you don't agree to it!
    2. Upload everything from the "upload" directory in our software package into your web servers forum directory.
    3. Install "addon-doublepost-1xx.xml" in your Xenforo ACP (ACP > Home > Install Add-On).
    4. Access "ACP > Home > Options > [WMTech] Double Post Merge" to check and setup the options of this add-on. Here you may set the divider text that will be displayed in-between two merged posts.
    5. Access "ACP > Users > User Group Permissions". Select the user group you wish to assign double post control. There are two permission that need to be set and both are located in their own section named '[WMTech] Double Post Merge':
      • Merge Time Limit (minutes - 1500)
Beyond this limit the post will not be merged.
The minutes you like have to be subtracted from 1500 and the result value has to be inserted. See Documentation!
Unlimited or > 1500 = never merge, Zero = always merge
      • Thread Bump Limit (minutes - 1500)
Beyond this limit, the thread will be marked as un-read and thread watch alerts will be sent out. Makes only sense if the time is shorter like the Merge Time Limit.
The minutes you like have to be subtracted from 1500 and the result value has to be inserted. See Documentation!

Unlimited or > 1500 = never bump, Zero = always bump
    6. To optionally further customize the look of the text (such as right or left placement, or background colour), please navigate to the style properties page of [WMTech] Double Post Merge where you will find a few CSS options.
Now you can enjoy our add-on at your board!

    Upgrade:

Important notes for upgrades from versions up to 1.2.0 to versions 1.3.0 or higher only:
    • Make a backup of all your XenForo files to be sure to not loose any files if something goes wrong.
    • The add-on is moving to a new location with version 1.3.0. Please backup any custom files or modifications you may have added there. The old location "/library/DoublePost" will be deleted automatically during the upgrade, if your web server has permission to do so. If not, you may delete this directory manually. It is no longer needed.
    • The permission system has been redone in version 1.3.0 and is no longer compatible with any versions up to 1.2.0. The old values are converted to the new values automatically during the upgrade. Please check the new permissions for this add-on after the upgrade for all your user groups. Please refer to the documentation for the new permission system >>HERE<<

    1. Download the new version from the add-on from our products section after licensing it for your forum(s). You may need to relicense even free add-ons, if your last version is older than 6 months. Please note, that we are enforcing our license. Please do not download, if you don't agree to it!
    2. Upload everything from the "upload" directory in our software package into your web servers forum directory overwriting all existing files with the new ones!
    3. Go to your Xenforo "ACP > Home > List Add-Ons" and select "[WMTech] Double Post Merge". At the dropdown arrow on the right, choose "Upgrade Add-On". A pop-up appears and let you select the XML file "addon-doublepost-1xx.xml" we provide in the upgrade software package.
    4. Access "ACP > Home > Options > [WMTech] Double Post Merge" to check existing options and setup any new options of this add-on.
    5. Access "ACP > Users > User Group Permissions". Select the user group you wish to check double post control and check the permissions.
This completes an upgrade process and refreshes your board with the enhanced power of a new version.
