We recommend the use of an automated installation and upgrade system.
Two of them are available for free to download at xenforo.com:
Please try one of them!

** Note: If you use the product created by Waindigo, please enter the following line to your XenForo configuration file (/library/config.php ) to prevent any callbacks to Waindigo this add-on otherwise starts itself regularly:
Code:
$config['disableCallbacks'] = true
If you want to do it manually, here are the instructions:

Installation:
  1. Download the add-on from our products section after licensing it for your forum(s). Please note, that we are enforcing our license. Please do not download, if you don't agree to it!
  2. Upload everything from the "upload" directory in our software package into your web servers forum directory.
  3. Install "addon-wmt_AttachManager-1xx.xml" in your Xenforo ACP (ACP > Home > Install Add-On).
  4. Access "ACP > Home > Options > [WMTech] Attachment Manager" to check and setup the options of this add-on.
Now you can enjoy our add-on at your board!

Upgrade:
  1. Download the new version from the add-on from our products section after licensing it for your forum(s). You may need to relicense even free add-ons, if your last version is older than 6 months. Please note, that we are enforcing our license. Please do not download, if you don't agree to it!
  2. Upload everything from the "upload" directory in our software package into your web servers forum directory overwriting all existing files with the new ones!
  3. Go to your Xenforo "ACP > Home > List Add-Ons" and select "[WMTech] Attachment Manager". At the dropdown arrow on the right, choose "Upgrade Add-On". A pop-up appears and let you select the XML file "addon-wmt_AttachManager-1xx.xml" we provide in the upgrade software package.
  4. Access "ACP > Home > Options > [WMTech] Attachment Manager" to check existing options and setup any new options of this add-on.
This completes an upgrade process and refreshes your board with the enhanced power of a new version.

Detailled Usage Instructions:
After installation you'll find the options of this addon in XenForo's ACP "Home > Options > [WMTech] Attachment Manager".

Individual user group permissions
In ACP "Home > Users > List User Groups" you can select your user groups and in each of them you'll find 2 settings under "Forum Permissions".
"Attachment Manager - View" gives that group the permission to use the Attachment Manager. Groups without that permission won't see any links to it and won't be able to use it.
"Attachment Manager - Delete" gives that group the permission to delete their attachments without any restrictions. Groups without that permission won't see the "Delete" Buttons and won't be able to delete attachments after their usual time to edit a post has been expired.

Select Content Types to View
Here you see all the content types of your XenForo installation (including third party add-ons) which can have attachments. Please select all content types you want your users to be able to handle with Attachment Manager.
Please NOTE : If you see a strange name at a checkbox like 'xf_somewhat_some' this phrase is missing from the third party add-on you've installed. You can solve this easily by adding a new phrase youself to your "Master Language" in your ACP under "Options > Appearance > Phrases". Please name the new phrase with exactly the phrase name shown (copy it from there). The value of the new phrase can be choosen by you as you like and will be shown to your users.

Select Content Types to Allow Delete
Again you see all attachment content types of your forum. This time please select all content types you want your users to be able to delete with Attachment Manager (if they have the Delete permission). Please use user and usergroup permissions to control which of your users are allowed to use Attachment Manager and are allowed to delete attachments with it.
Note: Deletions of attachments do not modify BBCodes in messages or posts! Deleted attachments will vanish without remains, if they are attached with a thumbnail only (default action for attachments). If they're attached with an IMG or ATTACH tag, a broken link may be left.

Attachments per Page? - Regular Full View
Attachments per Page? - Pickup Overlay

With those settings you are able to choose how many attachments should be shown in "Regular Full View" and in the "Pickup Overlay". The Pickup Overlay setting should be higher, because not the full attachment data, but only the BB-Code to be copied is shown in this view. The recommened settings are "10" for the Full Screen and "20" for the Overlay.

Show Select Overlay in Thread View?
If you want to allow your users to reuse their attachments via a Pickup Overlay in the message editor, avtivate this feature.

Show Preview and Link to Conversation Messages?
This add-on generally shows a link and a short preview of the message text where the attachment has been attached in it's Full View. Attachments to conversation messages may exist also. If you don't want the default behavior of this add-on in regards to attachments to conversation messages, deactivate this setting. If done, no preview and no link to the conversation message will be shown. This setting also saves a database query per attachment in a conversation message. We recommend to switch this OFF if you use a high number of Attachments per Page in Full View.

Confirm Attachment Deletions?
If activated, all deletions needs confirmation. A small popup is shown and asks for it. If deactivated, a single click at "Delete" deletes the attachment without reconfirmation.
