The PRO add-on uses a completely different, much more modern and much more efficient code base. The LITE add-on has been developed by Chris D. and was taken over by WMTech in 2014, and won't support XF 2.0 . Also the PRO add-on has a lot more features and will be developed to support XF 2.0 and further.
